There are not any specific guidelines on diet for those with restless legs syndrome. But it is advisable to ensure a sufficient intake of important nutrients and vitamins. Try to avoid processed foods and high-calorie products without or with little nutritional value.

A deficiency of iron can be a major risk factor for restless legs syndrome. Thus, make sure to take supplements or add more iron-rich foods to your diet. These include peas, dark green leafy veggies, red meat, beans, dried fruits, seafood, poultry, and iron-fortified products. Vitamin C plays a role in iron absorption, so you should consume more broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, grapefruits, kiwis, strawberries, oranges, and citrus juices as well. [9]
