10Chronic Pain
Chronic is not a common sign of PTSD. In fact, both conditions overlap with each other. This means that some people with chronic pain experience PTSD and vice versa. While the relation between them is still not fully explained, many scientists think that depression and mental issues caused by PTSD would wear down the body and lead to these physical problems. In some cases, the trauma would also trigger pain itself. For example, a spinal injury results in back pain or a brain injury that causes headaches. But in many cases, there might be higher levels of chronic pain in PTSD, which indicates some neurobiological pathways that are still unknown. [10]
