Not so long ago, the post-concussion syndrome was considered to be a quite minor medical condition. But due to the increasing number of cases and levels of severity over the past decades, more research has been conducted. They found out that several genetic factors can increase the risk of developing the condition. It turns out that men might have a higher threshold for these injuries than women, in both military and sports activities. Also, a few genetic variabilities can affect susceptibility to the post-concussion syndrome as well as variations in recovery time. [8]
