3Lipoma
A lipoma is a type of benign tumor under the skin. It mainly contains fat cells that are quite common to show up on the jaw or neck. If you have a lipoma, it may look colorless and soft. There should be no pain when you touch on the growth. The size may increase slowly over time, but the tumor does not pose any risk to your health. It tends to be more common in those with Cowden syndrome or people between 40 and 60 years old. [3]
Fibroma
Like lipomas, a fibroma is soft and benign growth. It is mostly made up of connective or fibrous cells and may appear anywhere on the body. A special form called ossifying fibroma may lead to noticeable swelling and a soft lump on the jawbone. It only occurs on one side of the jaw where the teeth develop. The tumor may contain both bones and tissues. [4]
