4Allergic Conjunctivitis
In some cases, an allergic reaction to animals or pollen could lead to conjunctivitis. Other triggers include toxic substances, pool chlorine, car fumes, or tobacco smoke. This form could affect both eyes. Itchiness is the most common sign. Other symptoms include puffy eyelids, tearing and burning eyes, or redness. Unlike vital and bacteria conjunctivitis, pink eye caused by allergies does not spread from person to person. [4]
