Since the symptoms of oral psoriasis resemble those of other disorders, it can be challenging to diagnose the condition. In fact, some doctors do not think that oral psoriasis is a form of psoriasis. There are currently no clinical criteria to help diagnose this disease. Your doctor may perform a physical exam to look for possible signs. A diagnosis can be made by ruling out other disorders that would cause similar symptoms. To confirm the diagnosis, a skin biopsy may be taken and further analysed in the lab. [6]
