6Diet and Supplements
It’s a no-brainer that a weak immune system causes more severe symptoms than usual. Shingles wouldn’t go away easily if you don’t stick to a good diet and avoid certain foods. Some nutrients necessary to help you pull through the pain and itchy sensations include amino acids (especially lysine), vitamins (A, E, C and B12). You can obtain them in supplements or directly from food. Some of the foods which might help are legumes, eggs, chicken, beans, leafy greens, vegetables, orange, spinach, and tomatoes. Try and avoid refined carbs, foods with high saturated fats, and sugar-rich foods.[5]
