Survival rates in multiple myeloma are basically based on the comparison between patients to other parts of the population without cancer. They can vary a lot, depending on the stage:
– Stage 1: around 5 years or 60 months
– Stage 2: around 3 to 4 years or 45 months
– Stage 3: around 2 to 3 years or 30 months.
It is necessary to know that these numbers are measured from the beginning of the treatment. Also, they are just the median, meaning that more than 50 percent of people can live longer than the average length above. [11]
