7Postural Changes
A change in your posture or position, such as standing up from a lying or sitting position, would result in a drop in your blood pressure. This condition is also known as orthostatic hypotension. However, it will quickly return to normal levels. It is more common when you get older. In addition, people with diabetes would be at a higher risk due to damages to the autonomic nervous system. Thus, make sure to keep a healthy weight by adopting a balanced diet and exercising regularly. Also, avoid staying in a specific position for an extended period. Try to move around after 45 minutes to 1 hour of sitting at work. Also, try to change to other positions gradually to avoid a quick drop in your blood pressure. [7]
