Mexiletine is a type of anti-arrhythmic medication that can be combined with beta blocker to help reduce the intervals of long QT syndrome. In addition, it can decrease the possibilities of other associated symptoms, such as seizure, fainting, or even sudden death. This drug is usually prescribed for the 3rd-most common type of inherited QT syndrome, which is LQT3. Nevertheless, you can also use it for other forms, include LQT2 and LQT1. [15]
