11Lifestyle Changes
People with ischemic heart disease should follow a healthy and balanced diet. It should be high in whole grains, veggies, and fruits to provide sufficient nutrients. You should go for lean protein sources rather than processed and pre-packaged meats. Replace saturated fats in lard or butter with monounsaturated fats in fish oil and olive oil. Doing regular exercises can also help improve your heart health. Ideally, you should work out at least 15 to 30 minutes on a daily basis. It is better to restrict your alcohol consumption and quit smoking as well because they can significantly increase the risk of heart disease. [11]
