4Causes of Inflammatory Breast Cancer
The exact causes of inflammatory breast cancer are still unclear. Scientists believe that the condition starts when a breast cell experiences some DNA changes. In most cases, this cell is located in either duct that transports breast milk to the nipple. But it may also start with a glandular tissue cell, which is responsible for the production of breast milk. DNA changes lead to the rapid growth of the cells, which gradually build up and block the lymphatic vessels in the breast’s skin. This blockage is the main cause of common symptoms in inflammatory breast cancer, such as dimpled skin, swelling, and redness. [4]
