6Excessive Vitamin D
Vitamin D plays an essential role in the absorption of calcium in your gut. Once calcium is absorbed, this mineral will travel into your bloodstream. Around 10 to 20 percent of the calcium in foods is often absorbed, while the remaining will be passed in stools. Nevertheless, an excessive intake of vitamin D through the diet or supplements would make your body absorb more calcium, thus resulting in hypercalcemia. Ideally, the recommended daily intake of vitamin for a typical adult is around 600 to 800 IU on a daily basis. [6]
