9Electrocautery
Thermal cautery, also known as electrocautery, is a procedure in which an alternating or direct current is transmitted through a metal wire electrode to generate heat. After that, this heated part will be placed on infected areas to kill abnormal cells. It is a common technique in minor cases. In general, this is a safe treatment because your body does not have direct contact with the current as in other procedures like deep-brain stimulators or cardiac pacemakers. However, there might be a few possible risks and side effects, such as an infection, slight bleeding, or mild discomfort or pain. Make sure to discuss your doctor to make an informed decision.
