10Diagnostic Tests for Fibromyalgia
To rule out conditions with similar symptoms to fibromyalgia, your doctor may need to conduct some blood tests, such as celiac serology, complete blood count, anti-nuclear antibody, thyroid function test, rheumatoid factor, cyclic citrullinated peptide test, or erythrocyte sedimentation rate. Some imaging techniques, such as MRI scans, CT scans, and X-rays can also be used to look for signs of cancer or degenerative spinal diseases. In addition, your doctor would suggest a thorough physical exam of the joints and muscles, a neurological exam, and sleep studies to assess other symptoms of fibromyalgia. [10]
