Many types of essential oils are effective home remedies for wisdom tooth pain. Most of them contain anti-inflammatory properties that can get rid of bacteria and reduce inflammation. Some good options to consider include peppermint oil, goldenseal oil, cinnamon oil, sage oil, aloe vera oil, clove oil, or tea tree oil. Make sure to dilute with carrier oils before starting as a high concentration of some essential oils would burn the skin. Put several drops on the fingers and gently massage around the affected gums.
