7Mini-Mental State Examination
The mini-mental state examination or MMSE is a test that includes a questionnaire with 30 points. It is often used by researchers and clinical experts to determine the intensity of cognitive impairments in dementia. The test is simple and only takes 10 minutes. However, you should not do it on your own at home. Instead, have it done by your doctor or healthcare provider to ensure precise results. During this period, people with dementia-like symptoms need to listen to the provided instructions from the doctor and answer a few questions related to time, place, and similar things. Based on the results, the doctor would suggest some problems with cognitive functions and identify the presence of dementia. [7]
