6Thyroid Issues
The thyroid is a small gland located in the center of our lower neck. It is responsible for producing some hormones that play a key role in regulating metabolism. When it generates too many hormones than usual, hyperthyroidism occurs and causes some typical signs, such as reduced memory, unexpected loss of weight, fatigue, dry skin, and coarse hair. When the thyroid generates too little hormones than needed, hypothyroidism happens. Some typical symptoms include difficulty sleeping, muscle weakness, irritability, and weight gain. Women are 5 to 8 times more likely to develop thyroid issues than men. [6]
