8Headache
Another possible sign of sinusitis is a persistent headache that lasts longer than 1 or 3 weeks. Unlike normal headaches, it can also be followed by discolored nasal discharge or facial tenderness as mentioned above. This condition is caused by constant swelling and pressure in the sinuses. In some cases, the sensation can spread to your cheeks, jaws, and ears. Sinus headaches are usually worse when you get up in the morning as fluids have been accumulating during the night. Many people often mistake it with a migraine. However, a headache caused by sinusitis can only be felt around your nose, while a migraine is more widespread, in the bottom or tom of your head.
