3Skin Changes
Even though skin changes do not occur in all cases of scoliosis, many people with early skin changes would develop this health issue later in life. If the texture or appearance of the overlying the spine develops hairy patches, dimples, color abnormalities, or rough spots, these might indicate abnormal development of the nervous system and spinal cord, also known as dysraphism. However, keep in mind that those changes often occur early in your life and result in scoliosis at young ages. There might be also other causes of skin changes, such as hormonal changes, skin cancer, or inflammatory arthritis. [3]
