3Parental Overindulgence
Another possible cause of narcissism in children may be parental overindulgence. Although every parent wants the best for their little ones, they do not always achieve this. Instead, they may overdo it and overindulge them. For instance, they might give them too many privileges, freedom, too many experiences, or too much material stuff, such as clothes, toys, or money. Since growing children need a proper degree of independence and autonomy to develop positively, overindulgence would affect this important stage and make them more prone to becoming narcissistic later in life.
