As per a study published on PubMed Central® (PMC), African Americans are the most susceptible ethnic group to have colorectal cancer in the United States. Compared to other races in America, there is a 24% higher incidence of colorectal cancer among black men and a 19% higher incidence of colorectal cancer among black women. Furthermore, the mortality of black people with colorectal cancer is also 15%-20% higher than other races. Apart from the factor of inherited gene mutation, socioeconomic status also stops Black Americans to access good health care, making it hard for them to receive a cancer screening and detection. [3]
