8Surgery for Early Stages
In the early stages when the tumor is still small, colon cancer can be treated with a few surgical processes. They are minimally invasive and allow for quicker recovery time. In a polypectomy, the surgeon will remove the whole polyps when they can be localized and contained. For bigger polyps, a special technique known as endoscopic mucosal resection might be needed. It uses special devices to remove a small part of the colon’s inner lining and polyp. [8]
