Colon cancer requires the combination of many treatments to suppress the growth of the tumor. During chemotherapy, your doctor would suggest some targeted drugs, which aim at particular abnormalities and block them from nurturing cancerous cells. Another option is immunotherapy. It triggers the immune system to stop the process in which the tumor generates proteins to prevent immunity from recognizing cancerous cells.
