6Stages of Chronic Venous Insufficiency
Based on clinical symptoms, there are 7 stages of venous insufficiency. These include:
– Stage C0: No symptoms can be noticed. You would feel tired or achy legs
– Stage C1: Blood vessels are visible on the skin
– Stage C2: You may notice varicose veins with a width of at least 3 millimeters
– Stage C03: There may be swelling, but no changes in the skin occur
– Stage C04: There are some changes in the texture or color of the skin
– Stage C05: There are open, healed ulcers
– Stage C06: Ulcers become acute or active
A diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency is made when you are at lease at stage 3. [6]
