12MRI Scan
MRI or magnetic resonance imaging is another form of scan that can be used to diagnose a cholesteatoma. It utilizes radio waves and strong magnetic fields to generate detailed images of the ear. The whole procedure takes around 30 minutes. Compared to a CT scan, an MRI scan can detect how far the cyst has spread inside your ear. The results can be used to diagnose, create a treatment plan, and assess the effectiveness of previous treatments. [12]
