11Jaw Problems
Some jaw problems would cause bruxism. People with the occlusal discrepancy, which means the bottom and top teeth do not meet properly, tend to be at a higher risk of bruxism. This would happen when you have crooked or missing teeth. Fortunately, teeth grinding would stop once you have corrected these jaw issues. In addition, bruxism could be related to many other medical conditions, such as night terrors, epilepsy, acid reflux, dementia, as well as Parkinson’s disease. [11]
