13Electrical Stimulation Devices
Electrical stimulation devices aim at stimulating the muscles or nerves in a routine way. The main goal is to prevent unexpected spasms or contractions of the bladder. However, this is not often regarded as the first line of treatment. In some cases, minor surgery is needed to implant the device and find the right placement for electrodes. In addition to bladder spasms, electrical stimulation devices can be used for other conditions such as urge incontinence, stress incontinence, and overactive bladder syndrome. [13]
