14Targeted Therapy
Targeted therapies are medications that can aim at particular molecular pathways involved in the development of cancer cells. While this effect does not actually cure your condition, it would slow down the growth, thus increasing life expectancy. There are currently two main drugs used for this treatment. The first one is the angiogenesis inhibitor. It works by stopping new blood vessels from being formed and depleting necessary substances for the tumors to grow. The second one is signal transduction inhibitor therapy, which kills cellular communication pathways of cancerous cells. [14]
