6Stay Hydrated
Dehydration may lead to a bad smell in the nose due to an insufficient production of saliva. Thus, make sure to ensure that your body gets enough water on a daily basis. In general, how much liquid you need will depend on your diet, levels of physical activities, age, health conditions, and many other factors. Plain water is the best option to hydrate the body. Avoid alcohol or caffeinated drinks as they might make you lose even more water. [7]
Saltwater Rinse
A simple home remedy to reduce the degree of a bad smell in your nose is to use a saltwater rinse. It can be easily done at home by following these steps:
– Step 1: Boil water and let it cool.
– Step 2: Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt into the water.
– Step 3: Wash your hands thoroughly with water and soap.
– Step 4: Pour the solution into the palm of your hand.
– Step 5: While leaning over a bowl, sniff the solution into one nostril and let it run out of your nose. Try using a finger to close the other nostril.
– Step 6: Repeat several times until the problem gets better. [8]
