8Malnutrition
Pneumonia may also attack and individual as a result of malnutrition. Malnutrition occurs as a result of poor diet where an individual lacks appropriate food with proper nutrition. It happens when there is the intake of excess and the same type of nutrients, very high energy, deficient nutrients, or poorly balanced nutrients. As a result, malnutrition results in wasting or delayed growth and even destruction of organs. The lungs require balanced nutrients like any other parts of the body, and when the nutrients lack, the cells start wasting making the lungs vulnerable to infections such as Pneumonia.
