7When to See a Doctor
Pink eye cases are rarely serious; still, you should see a doctor when you begin to notice any of the symptoms. Sometimes, the pink eye may go without any treatment, but in some cases, you will need to use antibiotics and eye-drops to combat the symptoms. You should never use a drug or eye-drop that was prescribed for somebody else, even if you feel that your symptoms are the same as the person’s symptoms.
However, there are some cases that will require urgent medical attention, so when you notice some of the following, you should see your doctor as soon as possible.
- When it hurts so much to look light that you can’t perform some of your days to day activities
- When you develop blurred vision
- When you have severe flu-like symptoms
- When a lot of discharge is coming out from your eyes, such that it affects or makes your eyelids stick together when you wake in the morning [6]
If your symptoms don’t improve after two weeks, you’d better see a doctor as soon as possible.
