2Asymmetric Psoriatic Arthritis
Asymmetric psoriatic arthritis affects only one side of the body. This type typically occurs in no more than five joints in the feet, knee, toe tip, fingertip, or large joints. Common signs and symptoms include joint swelling, joint pain, joint tenderness, joint warmness, nail changes, scaly or itchy skin areas, pain and swelling in the ligaments or tendons, eye issues, fatigue, redness or swelling of the toes or fingers, joint stiffness in the morning, and limited range of motion. Many of these symptoms are similar to those of rheumatoid arthritis and other forms of arthritis. However, it is important that asymmetric psoriatic only happens to one side of the body. Asymmetric psoriatic arthritis accounts for approximately 60 percent of cases, with more of these in men. However, many cases would progress to symmetric psoriatic arthritis over time. [2]
