10Rash
Another common symptom of strep throat is rash. This rash is known as scarlet fever or scarlatina which is caused by the bacteria that cause strep throat. At the inception of scarlatina, the victim develops red blotches on his or her skin. These red blotches then turn into a fine pink-red rash that is similar to sunburn. This rash does not usually appear on the face; you only get to see it on the ears, elbows, neck, inner thighs, groins, chest and other parts of the body. Scarlet fever rash is most common in children with strep throat, and this symptom appears the 1st to 4th day of infection. [8]
