This method of reducing pain is being practiced in China and other Asian countries for thousands of years now. This method has been subjected to different studies, and there is controversy surrounding it as to whether this is a real therapy or just a placebo. This treatment involves the insertion of thin, solid, metallic needles into the specific affected area of the skin. These needless are either manipulated by hand or a machine. This traditional therapy has been proved useful but observed to come with some side effects when not delivered properly or when delivered with non-sterile needles. [11]
