15Get Enough Calcium and Vitamin C
A deficiency of vitamin C and calcium can result in gum inflammation and other problems. Thus, make sure to take in enough amount of these nutrients in your daily diet to prevent gingivitis and ensure healthy gums. Some good sources of vitamin C are cantaloupe, broccoli, strawberries, papaya, bell peppers, kiwi, grapefruits, and oranges. You could get calcium from leafy green veggies, sardines, soy products, and dairy products such as ice cream, yoghurt, cheese, and milk. You can also take a multi-vitamin on a daily basis for the same effects. [15]
