Loperamide as an antidiarrheal agent reduces the amount of fluid in people, therefore slowing down bowel movement. Although this drug is quite effective in rapidly treating chronic diarrhea, it has been researched to have dangerous side effects when taken for a long period or when you take beyond the recommended amount.
