Headaches, particularly migraines, can be caused by some genetic factors. Therefore, the condition would run in the families. This means you can be at a higher risk if your parents or siblings suffer from it. So far, scientists have found out nearly 40 genetic components associated with migraines. In most cases, you must have inherited at least one or even more genetic mutations from parents to develop migraines. But having genetic mutations does not necessarily cause headaches, but only make you more prone to the conditions when exposed to environmental elements. [7]
