This is one of the rarer causes of bloody urine. Doctors do not really understand why intense exercise causes blood in the urine; sometimes, what is known is that intensity, rather than the duration of the exercise seems to be the cause. While there are some theories as to what may be the real cause, there is no concrete proof that supports any of them. One of the theories is high-intensity exercise may cause the bladder so much stress that it bleeds. Another theory is that the blood noticed in urine is a result of some red blood cells that have broken down during exercise. However, if you suspect that the cause of blood in your urine is a result of intense exercise, you should still see a doctor. [5]
