According to statistics, only 10% of stroke patients achieve total recovery. Most patients start to panic when results begin to backslide, and progress isn’t forthcoming again, things like regression and 3-months plateau (a state where recovery slows down from within 3-6 months after stroke), can totally discourage the recovery process, but this is just the normal decline and flow of recovery. When you stop, that is when recovery stops, keeping a positive mindset will help phase through this and hasten recovery, change regimen if one is not working, so your brain can have a new sense of stimulation. Lastly setting realistic goals will finally help encourage progress. [5]
