Blue-tinged skin is another sign exposed by the individuals suffering from pneumonia especially the children. It’s also referred to as Cyanosis where the skin or the mucous membrane discolors and starts turning bluish or purplish as a result of the tissues near the skin getting a low supply of oxygen. Pneumonia causes an absolute quantity of deoxyhemoglobin that causes the bluish color. It is a severe symptom that occurs especially in children where it requires the first response, especially within 3-5 minutes if you notice such in fingers or the lips. [8]
