6Severe Itching
Itching is a common sign in many people with Hodgkin lymphoma. It is thought to be associated with chemicals released by the immune system to fight against cancer cells. These substances irritate your skin nerves and make them itch. However, having itchy skin does not mean that you suffer from cancer. In fact, this condition can be triggered by many other conditions, such as menopause, skin infections, or eczema. You can notice an irritated and red skin spot around the swollen lymph nodes. These areas might look like red bumps or a sunburn. In more serious cases, it might result in a burning sensation. Many people find it hard to tolerate the symptom, particularly when the weather is hot. Itching can become worse when you are sleeping at night.[6]
