10Lack of Sufficient Sleep
When you don’t sleep for as long as you should, or when the quality of your sleep is not as good as it should be, you have a very high risk of developing high blood pressure. Sleep is one of the ways to deal with stress; sleep helps the brain to recover and allows sufficient blood to reach the brain. Adequate sleep is not just for avoiding high blood pressure, it improves cognitive functioning, and it promotes good general health. Inability to sleep can also be a symptom of high blood pressure.[10]
