5Diagnosis
It is generally challenging to diagnose myocarditis. However, many tests and techniques can be done to narrow down the list of possible causes and symptoms. These include:
– Chest X-ray: to find out possible symptoms of heart failure and show chest conditions
– Blood testing: to look for symptoms of inflammation or infection
– Echocardiogram: to examine the functional and structural problems in the heart and surrounding vessels
– Electrocardiogram: to examine unusual heart rhythms and rates that might suggest the presence of damage to heart muscles
– Myocardial biopsy: this test can be done during heart catheterization to enable a doctor to check a small part of your heart muscular tissue [5]
