5Angioplasty or stenting
In this method, the doctor will thread a stent, a tiny metal tube with a small balloon inside, via your blood vessel and to your heart. After that, the balloon will be inflated in the narrow artery to widen it and enhance blood flow. The stent will be left in the artery to keep in open. Some stents might contain medicine which keeps your arteries from being blocked again. This process often takes around two hours, but you need to stay at the hospital overnight. Angioplasty might involve a few risks, such as the reforming of blockages, blood clots in the stent, life-threatening bleeding, stroke, or even heart attack. [5]
