Different types of heart diseases are associated with stroke. This is because the heart and the blood flow to the brain have close interaction. Also known as cardiovascular disease, this condition has to do with blocked blood vessels that can lead to a stroke. Some of the heart diseases that can lead to stroke are congenital heart defects, irregular heartbeat, coronary artery disease, atherosclerotic disease, weak heart muscle (dilated cardiomyopathy), endocarditis and valvular heart disease. So, when you get a whiff of any symptom connected to heart disease, immediately meet with your doctor to avoid more complicated conditions such as stroke. [4]
