8Breast Cancer Treatments
There are many treatment options for breast cancer, depending on the stages. Surgery is by far the most common choice. Some surgical procedures to choose from include lumpectomy (remove the tumor and surrounding tissue), mastectomy (remove the whole breast), or sentinel node biopsy (remove some lymph nodes). Also, you might need additional treatments to remove the cancerous cells completely, such as hormone therapy, radiation, targeted therapy, or chemotherapy. Some drugs are specially made to attack mutations or abnormalities in cancer cells. Consult your doctor carefully to have a well-designed treatment plan. [8]
